When Sri Lanka was a British colony, Tamil plantation workers like these women were brought in by the British from south India as near slave labour to work on huge tea plantations. Granted Sri Lankan citizenship after decades of statelessness, they still live in poverty, picking tea for a living. Canon EOS 600D and EF-S 18-200mm lens, with a Hoya polarising filter, at 90mm, 1/250, f/5.6, and ISO 100.
