A Missionary Bastion: St Anthony’s Wahakotte

A shot from my first pro photography assignment, a piece on St Anthony’s Wahakotte, for Serendib, SriLankan Airlines’ inflight magazine. Follow the link or click on the pic to see the rest of the shots and read the article, which I also wrote.

  1. This is a wonderful picture. Thank you for sharing. I have a faint memory of being taken to this church when I was around 5-6 years but have not had a chance to visit since then. My Grandmother used to tell us tails about how they use to travel to this remote church in the 1950’s when roads and motorised transport was not freely available in the interior of the Island. As kids we use to listen and wonder about this church which had a strange name. Will make a point to visit this Church since your article has made me curious about the history of this place.
