The Wind in the Mountains
Wind turbines in the Hunsrück Mountains, close to Salzkopf, Germany. These towers have become a regular sight throughout the Hunsrück, an area of small traditional farming communities, between the Rhine and Moselle rivers. Many inhabitants complain that the wind turbines, while supporting the efforts of sustainable power, mar the beauty of this high plateau, and affect tourism. The complaint may be valid when considering how few wind turbines have been constructed in more popular tourist destinations such as the nearby Rhine and Moselle valleys. Germany, summer 2016.
