Racing Down the Home Stretch

Racing Down the Straight #2 by Son of the Morning Light on 500px.com

A pair of thoroughbreds at maximum attack during morning training at the Nuwara Eliya Race Course. Although horse racing had begun in Nuwara Eliya in the mid-19th century, when John Baker, brother of the famous Samuel Baker, imported his English thoroughbreds, the Nuwara Eliya Turf Club was built only in 1900. Several race days will be held this April. Shot on assignment for Serendib, the inflight magazine of SriLankan Airlines. My story, The Nuwara Eliya Season in Spring, runs in the April 2017 issue.
