The Devil’s Staircase #3

The view across the Ohiya Gap of the steepest part of the Devil’s Staircase, in the Central Highlands of Sri Lanka. This is the final bit of the Stairs, the 300m climb up the Haputale Ridge, and is tough going both on foot or in a 4×4 vehicle, the latter requiring skill, patience, and nerves. Shot on assignment for Serendib, the inflight magazine of SriLankan Airlines. My story, The Devil’s Staircase, ran in the March 2017 issue.
