High above the Belihul Oya Valley, the abandoned Udaweriya Tea Factory sits as a forlorn reminder of the great heights the Sri Lankan tea industry has fallen from. As the country’s tea industry consolidates into larger corporations, many smaller tea plantations have been absorbed, and their now redundant factories abandoned.
