Cinnamon is peeled in Sri Lanka, as it has been done for centuries, by hand. The peeled bark is used in the food industry, and cinnamon oil is extracted from the leaves. Sri Lanka produces 8% of the world’s cinnamon. Shot in September 2017, on assignment for Verge International, a producer of essential oils.
