Signage indicating it is carrying “Thriposha”, a goods carriage sits at Demodara, part of a mixed goods and passenger train on its way from Kandy to Badulla. “Thriposha” is a maize-based flour, also containing soya and powdered milk, which is distributed free as a food supplement to undernourished sections of the populace, primarily young mothers and children, by the government’s Health Ministry.
